Machinefabriek Marijn (Vinyl LP) (Import)
Label: Burning World Origin: Netherlands
Vast, brilliant noise from the Netherlands. Woven together from filigrees of diffused sound, the music contained within 'Marijn' is like a slow-burning candle - shedding little light on its source, but nonetheless creating an ambience and glow that can't help but draw you in. Recommended for fans of Merzbow, Squarepusher, and Autechre.

And then there’s Magic Circle, whose recently-released self-titled album appeared seemingly from nowhere and has started to make some waves. Magic Circle play a very NWOBHM-in...

The Makai The End of All You Know (Color) (Vinyl LP)
Label: Seventh Rule Origin: USA
Limited edition of only 320 hand-numbered copies on grey swirl colored vinyl!Double sided silk-screened cover! The End of All You Know is noisy, guitar-heavy, and cranked up to the maximum. The band blends thrash and extreme metal, Swedish-influenced melodic death, and a good bit of chaotic hardcore. The pace is relentless, the songwriting is solid, and the arrangements are written in a way that keeps each song from sounding like the next one.

Malachi Wither to Cover the Tread (Vinyl LP)
Label: Siege of Power Origin: USA
The songs build slowly making as much out of the spaces between the notes as the notes themselves, and when the heavy parts drop, they are HEAVY. The subtle use of electronic noise really augments the songs, which is not always the case with bands that experiment with such touches. If you go apeshit for Oroku, Fall of Efrafa, or Grayceon, you need this LP right now. This is deep, well written stuff with enough nuance to demand the listener's full attention.

Mammatus Self Titled (Vinyl LP)
Label: Holy Mountain Origin: USA
Artwork by Arik Roper. Impressive collection of stoner drone psychedelic jam rock. While Mammatus hasn’t been around for very long, they deliver on just about every level. Their self-titled debut draws heavily on the cornerstones of mind warping, heavy music – Hawkwind, Sleep, Floyd, Sabbath. You’re in for a hell of a lot of cosmic wandering as the band stretches out and cuts loose with some creative playing. It’s mostly instrumental, although ethereal vocals in the ...

Mammoth Grinder Extinction of Humanity (Color) (Vinyl LP)
Label: Cyclopean Origin: USA
Limited edition on translucent orange vinyl. For me, it is difficult to classify Mammoth Grinder. They play a strain of hardcore that mixes elements of sludge, crust, and d-beat. Metallic hardcore I guess? They have elements of that Tragedy d-beat sound everyone is trying to duplicate right now, but in addition, they implement sludgy slow parts reminiscent of Eyehategod or Black Sabbath. Unlike Tragedy, Mammoth Grinder is able to harness an aggressively violent sound th...

Mammoth Volume Noara Dance (Vinyl LP)
Label: Music Cartel Origin: USA
I can't help but love Mammoth Volume's "Noara Dance"... These guys know what they want and seem to get it.I mean really get it! With the usual stylings of 70's bands that we have all come to know- Black Sabbath, Kiss, Deep Purple... Mammoth Volume seem to dig even deeper, spreading their styles past the regular carbon copy bands that seem to be popping up left and right lately.
